Night Forest Cell of Radical Poets

I.

In bleak winds step back.

I try to remember more;

further than days gone

to shadow, as time marches

in plastic fervour.

Boulevards filled with fickle

life – dressed in ersatz

winter paraphernalia –

grope with detachment

to vapour, awaiting gales edge,

as winds quiet the dead.

Placing nature into tomb;

some say fitting, yet

who could tangibly confine

forever to hearts,

when in the depths of sorrow

we were the dream? Gone

today, and lost tomorrows.

We walked along old streets

wrapped in social smog and bleak

denizens of deepest pity –

Lacunae gave to us that

which was ours to overcome;

and never place their universe

as more than dust

and haunting reminiscence

pressed against bitter loneliness.

We warmed in contradiction to each other –

stolen and engulfing – marching apparitions,

marching two abreast into void amnesia.

Each echoing, gathering deceit and lies –
