Wreck

I stumbled
across your echo
like the flash haze of better days.
Those
dancing naked in the rain,
between the petals
and cacophony of thunderous strays,
kind of days.

To the refrain
I sold our distance
to futures
for spoils that dissolve
in a blaze
of tin thoughts and foil emotive drudge,
that became so thin,
as closer,
their shadows praise,
and life betrays.

Painted
for solar flares,
nothing more,
nor less, than the forest
that forgot its trees.
Saplings
starved in collapsed nonentity.
Where all alone
we became the paraphrase
of songs that touched
the barren ground.

And i
on my knees,
were there when you appeared.
The fogs of age,
grown and vibrant,
time froze for those
better days.

And you

Shook me all night long.*
