Love and Wisdom

Do not mistake apathy for protection,
My indifference echoes your betrayals,
Your winds become fierce when I do not surrender,
But your games stay the same, identical
To misshaped sentiment, where naught
Is revealed, and little is relived.

Souls wait for your moves to mean love,
The hollow verse to be given galaxies
To lie in beauty and wild gardens,
“Pity me, shame me, disappoint me,” you cry
Each blank action denies allure,
Amare et sapere vix deo conceditur.*

* Even a god finds it hard to love and be wise at the same time
