Loving Lies

She sighed,
Exhaling the world,
The joy,
The sorrow.

He lied,
Inhaling her world,
The heartache,
The happiness.

Without his
Comforting falsehood,
She would crumble,
Dissipate before him.

His wrong
Was her right,
He could hold the pain,
It was now his bane.

She loved,
He loved,
Sweet lie, masked,
Held, supported.

It’s all he could give
And he gave his all.
